One of the close allies of the late Alaafin of Oyo and President, Yoruba in Diaspora, South Africa, Dr. Olusola Agbeniyi has sent condolences to the immediate family of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi the third, Oyo Indigenes, the state governor and the federal government of Nigeria over the demise of the monarch.

Dr. Agbeniyi said the passage of His Imperial Majesty was a great shock and loss to him and members of the Diaspora because his Imperial Majesty was a great ambassador and promoter of Yoruba cultural values like no other.

” Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was all his life at the forefront of promotion of Yoruba Culture and values, no doubt about that, it is obvious a big vacuum has been created”

“He is Yoruba cultural ambassador per excellent, he is the only monarch in Yoruba land that teaches true values and culture of Yoruba heritage”

Also reacting, a Public Affairs Analyst and yoruba wordsmith, Mr Femi Olukunle , said the passage of the Alaafin of Oyo was like setting fire on cultural heritage library, describing the late Monarch as an ocean of knowledge especially on Yoruba language, Cultural heritage, customs and values.

“The demise of Alaafin was like setting on fire a complete library”

“Alaafin was a mobile library, a well stocked library, the Yoruba land has lost an iconic monarch”
Mr Olukunle said the late Oba was with a difference in expression , dressing and intellect.
