The Nigeria Labour Congress has asked all its state chapters to use this evening and night to closely monitor the announcement of Sallah as this would determined the date for the celebration of this year’s May Day.

The NLC in a letter by its Secretary, Comrade EMMANUEL UGBOAJA, to all its state congresses, said if Sallah will be tomorrow then the May Day Celebration would be moved to Monday, the 2nd of May but if Sallah does not take place tomorrow, then May Day will happen tomorrow, being Sunday, the 1ST OF May.

The NLC which described this year’s May Day celebration as peculiar said the decision was the outcome of the National Central Working Committee’s meeting held on Tuesday, the 27th of April.

The union urged its members to abide by the decision of the central working committee and pay close attention to various NLC media platforms and WhatsApp groups.

It added that the NLC National Secretariat will remain open today till midnight, urging state chapters to contact it for any information.
