Today is Valentine’s Day, a day set aside to celebrate heartfelt love among humankind as recorded through an event in ancient Roman Empire involving a man known as Valentine, who was said to have laid down his life for love.
In commemoration of the day, a cleric, Pastor Folashade Ajibade wants Nigerians to always use every opportunity they come across to serve God and humanity in true love.
Pastor Ajibade made the call in Ibadan while speaking on the backdrop of this year’s Valentine’s Day.
She said people needed to shun frivolities, satanic induced acts and uncontrollable thirst for worldly materials but should be steadfast in sharing with the less privileged, build good neighbourliness and be example of good leadership at all times.
Pastor Ajibade said the event that led to Valentine’s Day should be reflected upon not ungodly habits that may jeopardize their future as youths and couples.
The cleric also enjoined those in position of authority to also place people welfare above selfishness, nepotism and sectionalism.
