United Nations Secretary-General Anthonio Guterres has held a closed door meeting with heads of UN institutions in Abuja, as part of activities lined up for his 2 days visit to Nigeria.

Mr Guterres is currently meeting with the Minister of Women Affairs Dame Pauline Tallen and some women groups.

The UN Secretary-General will also have meetings with senior government officials as well as civil society representatives, including youth groups and religious leaders. 

Afterwards, Guterres will also meet with President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo later today. 

He was in Borno State where he engages with Governor Babagana Zulum, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and beneficiaries of the Stabilisation project in Banki area of state.

This is the first mission of the 9th United Nations Secretary-General to Nigeria.
