Two months after lecturers of Nigerian Universities under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, commenced strike, there is no sign of when the strike will end yet.
Chairman ASUU, University of Ibadan chapter, Professor Ayoola Akinwole in a telephone interview with our correspondent , called on Nigerians to prevail on the federal Government to abide by the agreement signed with ASUU many years ago.
According to Professor Akinwole, “once the agreement is sorted out, lecturers will resume work with immediate effect”.
He added that, Members of ASUU are also running postgraduate programmes so the strike affects everybody. it is a National problem that demands urgent attention from the Federal Government.
ASUU had last month extended the ongoing strike by two months
