A former Clerk of the Oyo State Assembly, Barrister Paul Bankole, has charged those in the civil service to do their job diligently and remain neutral when it comes to politics.
Barrister Bankole, who served in the Oyo State Civil Service for 32 years, gave the charge when he featured on Pensioners’ FM’s current affairs programme, Voice of Liberation.
Barrister Bankole , who also worked as the Principal Private Secretary to two former governors in the state, Senator Rasheed Ladoja and the Late Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, said any civil servant who does not stay neutral in politics, will eventually bite his or her fingers, as political office holders come and go.
He reminded civil servants that some politicians use and dump people and therefore must be careful in the discharge of their duties with them.
“Civil Service workers should carry out their duties diligently and remain neutral when dealing with politicians as they come and go”
The former Oyo Assembly Clerk who served for eight years in the House, urged civil servants to prepare themselves adequately before retirement by investing in the right ventures and cultivate the habit of savings.
