Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners has rejoiced with Christian faithful as they mark this year’s Easter.

The union urged Christians to use the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pray for the socio-economic and spiritual turn around of the nation.

In a release by the Chairman, Chief Isiaka Abolade and its Secretary, Comrade Olusegun Abatan, the union stressed the significance of national unity and progress, urging Christians not to relent in their fervent prayer for the growth and development of the nation.

While felicitating the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the entire people of Oyo State, the union urged its members to celebrate in modesty mindful of the scourge of covid-19 and other negative tendencies.

It also remembers the Muslim faithful who are currently observing the Ramadan period, urging them to remain steadfast until the journey comes to a climax.
