The Chairman, Oyo State Task Force on COVID-19, Professor Temitope Alonge has blamed the rising profile of daily new cases in the state on the non-compliance to laid down protocols.
Professor Alonge noted that the people were stubborn and disregards the use of nose masks which was to serve as prevention.
Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan on one year COVID-19 situation in Oyo State, Professor Alonge, who is the immediate past chief medical director of University College Hospital, Ibadan, explained that the government was playing its own role to carry out tests and care for the infected persons.
He added that the government was currently examining the post-treatment cases of COVID-19 survivors as many of them reportedly come down with other ailments.
Professor Alonge however, advised the people to take their health seriously, saying only the living would enjoy government’s initiatives and the dividend of democracy.
