Nigeria Football Authorities have been urged to take a second look at ways of extending invitation of players to the country’s age-grade competitions.

A foremost grassroots Coach with Young Star Football Club of Ibadan, Mr Akinwale Olatunji dropped this hint shortly after featuring on Pensioners FM weekly sports programme, “Koko Oro Ere Idaraya”.

Mr Olatunji attributed dwindling fortune of Football in the country to lack of developmental projects to encourage youths to the round leather game.

Mr Olatunji added that “we don’t have platform for Nigeria Youth League, if we have, Nigeria Football Federation would have recruited them into the National League, he urged the Government to create an avenue for them so as to be recruited into the National League”.

It would be recalled that NFF recently invited established players in the NNL and NPFL to different age-grade national teams.
