A preacher at St Anne’s Church, Molete, Ibadan, Mrs. Sola Fakolade has called on mothers to show good examples to their children.
She made the call while delivering a sermon to commemorate this year’s Mothering Sunday.
Mrs. Fakolade, while speaking on the roles of women in making a Christian home as a mother and as a wife, explained that children should be trained to be disciplined and to read the words of God always.
She also noted that a Christian home should be a happy one devoid of exchange of blows.
Mrs. Fakolade admonished wives not to compare their husbands with any other man, but rather they should be submissive to their husbands.
She also advised mothers not to allow the social media to rob them of their homes.
Mothering Sunday which has its origin in the United Kingdom and Ireland is celebrated annually and globally on the fourth day of Lent.
It is traditionally a religious day in which children, especially daughters return to their mothers and mother churches for a special service known as going -Mothering.
