Governor Seyi Makinde has sued for unity and peaceful coexistence among ethnic groups in Nigeria, charging them to avoid things that can cause disunity.
Governor Makinde made the call during the reopening of Sasa Ultra Modern Market, in Ibadan.
Recalling the crises that led to the destruction of the market, Governor Makinde noted that if the situation was not properly managed, the crises would have escalated beyond control.
He further appealed to market and religious leaders and people of different ethnic groups in the market to work together and make the market a symbol of Unity.
The popular Sasa Market was set on fire on February 12th last year following violence between two ethnic groups.
