Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has released over one billion naira as gratuities for over three hundred Pensioners.

Chairman of Local Government Staff Pension Board, Prince Adebayo Adeyemi made this known at the flag off of payment of gratuities to Retired Local Government Staff and Retired Primary School Teachers across the state.

Prince Adeyemi appealed to the Pensioners to make judicious use of their gratuities.

Prince Adeyemi said “what is been witnessed today is a job well-done by the state Government for deeming it fit to release the gratuities to pensioners in the state”.

In his remark, Executive Secretary, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State, Comrade OLUSEGUN ABATAN, appreciated the Local Government Staff Pension Board for the efforts in making sure the gratuities are paid to the affected retirees after nine years.

Comrade Abatan added that “it is  a surprise that despite the economic hardship been faced in the country, that the Governor deemed it fit to pay the gratuity, that it was a nice and kind gesture from him”.

 Two Pensioners who spoke with Pensioners Fm Correspondent, Michael Adeyemo, lauded Governor MAKINDE for remaining steadfast in his commitment towards the welfare of pensioners and the entire work force in the state.
