The House of Representatives has decried what it described epileptic power supply to the citizens.
To this end, the house is asking relevant authorities to explore utilization of alternative sources for electricity generation and supply in the country to curb constant power outage and resultant negative impact on the economy.
The development Followed a matter of urgent importance from the chief whip Mohammed Tahir Monguno, the House noted that the current epileptic electricity supply is affecting businesses and livelihoods hence the increasing negative effect on the economy.
The lawmakers canvassed investments in solar and other alternative but reliable sources of power generation to ensure efficiency in the sector.
The lawmakers emphasized that for the economy to grow, operators and regulators in the power sector must ensure global best practices.
