As Christians all over the world mark Good Friday, Christian leaders have been advised to change from worldly teachings to sermons on righteousness.
A resident Pastor of Christian Church International, Ibadan, Pastor Abiodun Iyiola, said this while speaking with Pensioners FM.
Pastor Iyiola also enjoined Christian leaders to emulate the virtues and attributes of Jesus Christ for a better Society.
According to the cleric, Good Friday should be seen as a day of sober-reflection, penance and fasting.
The cleric, while highlighting some of the attributes of Christ as peaceful, loving and a sacrificed life to redeem mankind from destruction to eternal life, called on Christian leaders to take examples from the Christ-like life of sacrifice for the good of all.
“Christians are the light of the World; hence they are called to radiate light to the kingdom of darkness that is responsible for kidnappings, killings, rape, and marital violence. It is only a regenerated heart that will run away from evil”, he said.
Pastor Iyiola stressed that the only way to reciprocate the love of God towards mankind was to love their neighbours as themselves and be at peace with one another.
The clergyman also called on all tiers of Government to as matter of urgency stand up to the challenges of insecurities facing the nation in recent times.
Speaking on Easter celebration which connotes redemption and restoration, Pastor Iyiola prayed God to restore the glory of every home and the Nation at large, stressing God’s favour and mercies have been sustaining the Nation as an entity.
