Two weeks after the Oyo state House of Assembly pass the bill to upgrade Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, EACOED, Oyo, to a degree awarding Institution, Governor Seyi Makinde has assented the bill to law.
The governor, who assented to the bill at the Exco chamber of the Governor’s Office, said that the newly upgraded university will be made formal as Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, while diplomas, degrees, and other academic certificates would be awarded to students by the institution
Governor Makinde gave assurance that his administration will maintain 100 percent subventions to all state’s institutions while regular services to staff welfare will be upped.
Speaker, Oyo state House of Assembly, Honorable Adebo Ogundoyin said the passage of the law to upgrade the Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, Oyo to a degree awarding Institution came to limelight on November 23rd last month which according to him would increase the state owned universities to three.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Education, Barrister Abdulramon Abdulrahim said that the promotion of the college to a University of Education would help in graduating competent and professional teachers and improve the internally generated revenue of the state.
