Reactions have continued to trail the recent pardon granted to ex-Governors Joshua Dariye of Plateau State and Jolly Nyame of Taraba State, by President Muhammadu Buhari.     

While speaking on Trending, a Pensioners’ FM News and Current Affairs programme, A legal Icon, Mr. Musibau Adetumbi, SAN, opined that the president’s action was in accordance with the constitution.

Mr Adetumbi, SAN, said “personally he would have loved for them not to be pardoned and to serve their full jail term so as to serve as deterrent to others.

He added that since he is not the president, Mr President knows why he gave them the pardon.

Relating the recent pardon to promotion of corruption in our society Mr. Adetumbi added that the move could encourage corruption among political office holders.
