Low Turnout Greets School Resumption in Oyo

Students in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, have shunned the directive of the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, that schools should resume for third term of the 2022 academic session today.

Pensioners’ FM’s Correspondent reports that there was low turnout of students in some schools visited.

Speaking with Our Correspondent, the Vice Principal of a Community Grammar School at the Ekotedo area of Ibadan, Mrs Obisesan Omoyeni, said those who complied with the resumption directive were mostly students preparing for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination, WASSCE, May/JUNE 2002.

A school teacher, Mr Olusegun Ayoade, told Pensioners FM that students’ low turnout was as a result of confusion which ensued from the earlier speculated date of Monday the 9th of this month against today’s date.

There was a report that Oyo State Government had changed the date for resumption from next week Monday to today, as resumption date for third term academic activities.
