Tomatoes, pepper and onion traders in Oyo and neighboring towns are now enjoying boom in their businesses, a development traced to be the aftermath of the crisis that erupted at Shasha market in Ibadan last week.

Pensioners’ FM correspondent gathered that there has been an influx of women traders at Ajegunle and Eleekara markets in Oyo town where many trucks initially headed to Shasha market now offload.

One of the traders, Mrs. Alice Babalola urged government to intensify efforts on its agricultural programme, in view of the region’s natural endowments, to make Oyo State less dependent on pepper and tomatoes grown in other parts of the country.
