A former member of the House of Representatives from Jigawa State, Tijani Ibrahim, who is the All Progressives Congress, APC, senatorial candidate for Jigawa South West Senatorial District is dead.
Ibrahim, who was admitted at an Abuja hospital for treatment of lung infection from where he was flown to China for further treatment when his condition deteriorated, He died on Saturday August 13.
Ibrahim died barely three months after he won the APC senatorial ticket for his zone where he polled 361 votes.
Confirming the report, the Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammad Badaru, in a condolence message said Ibrahim’s death “is a great loss not only to his family but to the Muslim Ummah”.
Badaru in the statement described Ibrahim as “a loyal and dependable politician who contributed immensely to the political development of the country.”
