The Immediate past ALGON Chairman, Oyo State and House of representatives hopeful, Oluyole Federal Constituency Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye MDII has commiserated with the family, Oyo people, Oyo State Council of Obas, Oyo State Government and Yoruba at large over the passage of the foremost Yoruba culture and tradition custodian, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
In a statement personally signed by him, Prince Aleshinloye said he received the news of the demise of the forthright first class monarch with rude shock. The ex- ALGON leader described the late Alaafin of Oyo as an icon of international status whose contribution to the development of humanity transcended beyond ethnic barriers and his contribution to the development of Oyo town, Oyo State and the Nation will forever be in gold prints.
Aleshinloye further stated that the town would surely miss Oba Lamidi Adeyemi whom he said was indeed a role model and a wise ruler who without fear or favour ruled his people with great wisdom and high sense of humour.
“As mortals we never want our elderly ones to die, but the Holy Books say that all souls must taste death. So, we have to submit to the supreme will of the Almighty Allah from whom we came and unto whom we shall all return,” he said.
He urged the children and the entire family of the late Alaafin of Oyo to be consoled by the fact that the late first class monarch lived a good life, impacted lives and left legacies of a good name and honour.
“I pray that God would repose the soul of the departed monarch and comfort the family and the people of Oyo State, “the most distinguished Ibadan Indigene added”.
