Oyo state Chapter of Action Alliance (AA) has welcomed new members to the party with a declaration that the party in the state has no anointed candidate for any position as at now.

This was contained in the press statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan by the State Secretary of the party, Pastor Emmanuel Olumide after the party’s meeting on Thursday when Hon. Oluwaseyi Ojo led scores of new members into the party.

The Secretary explained that contrary to insinuations that the party has no room for aspiring people for various elective offices, he said, “AA in Oyo State is opened to as many people as are available and ready to work and win elections come 2023.

“Aside, we don’t discriminate against any member on account of period of membership, either long or short, rather, we create a level playing field for everybody to prove his or her mettle”, he added.

The party, according to the Secretary also resolved to field candidates for all the elective positions, stressing that “we have come a long way as a political party and cannot allow our position as an alternative party to the two prominent parties to be rubbished on the altar of electoral compromise.

“We are charging our members, both old and new to be purposeful, resilient and forward looking in their pursuit of whatever position they desire just as the party machinery would be deployed to give them all the necessary backing and encouragement”, the party added.
