As political parties’ aspirants for different elective offices move round to solicit for support for their aspirations against 2023 general elections, they have been charged to come with ideas that would give hope of a better future for Nigerians.
This charge was made by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, while playing host to one of the Oyo-South Senatorial District aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Kola-Daisi.
Oba Balogun, who expressed joy on the Senatorial ambition of Kolapo described as young and vibrant urged him and his colleagues aspiring to lead the country at any level to truly think and work for a better Nigeria.
The monarch acknowledged the hardship an average Nigerian presently goes through and posited that “people are looking forward for a better life through all of you aspiring to lead us as from next year and you cannot afford to fail. I pray for your success”.
Earlier, the aspiring Senator had told Kabiyesi that the visit was to get his blessings as his Royal Father and solicit for his support not minding the fact that Kabiyesi is the father of all and could not belong to any political party.
“Kabiyesi, I have come as a son goes to his father for blessings on my ambition. As the father of all, Your Royal Majesty belongs to all, but, I have come to say that there are children and there are children and among children, we have children.
“By the grace of God and the support of my party members, if I’m given the ticket to represent our people in the Senate, I won’t let the people down. We have seen the plight of our people and will join hands with people of like minds to bring genuine change to the country”, Kolapo added.
